WASD move · Space jump · Mouse aim · Click attack

1 2 3, Q or the mouse wheel switch ability · F quick-uses your last ability (Erik Frog: hold F to raise the shield)

Enter opens chat · Esc frees the mouse

On a phone or tablet: hold it sideways. Drag on the left to move and on the right to look. Use the Fire and Jump buttons, and tap an ability name to switch to it.

Practice is in each mode's menu: one bot for a duel, or a bot team-mate and two bot enemies for team deathmatch.

Matches

Best of 5: the first frog to win 3 rounds takes the match. Every round is one life on a random map, and you pick a class before each one (click it, or press its number).

Health potions and power-ups are scattered around every map.

2v2 Team Deathmatch

Up to four frogs in two teams on one map for three minutes. You pick a class once and keep it all match, respawn three seconds after dying, and the team with the most kills when the clock runs out wins. You cannot hurt your own team.

The host presses Start once at least two frogs are in the room.

Defend the Lotus

Play it alone or with up to three friends. Pick a class once, then hold off waves of invaders heading for the Lotus in the middle of the pond. Flies and beetles eat it, wasps hunt you, enemy frogs join from wave 4, and a giant beetle arrives every fifth wave. The waves never end and keep getting harder.

You have three lives. The run is over when they are gone or the Lotus is destroyed. The Lotus regains a little health after each wave.

In co-op, open a public or private lobby like the other modes. The host can start whenever they like, and chooses the boons for the whole team. Everyone has three lives of their own, and the run ends when every player is out or the Lotus falls. Each player earns the coins for the waves cleared.

You choose two boons from five before the first wave, and after every boss you are offered five more at random and keep two. They last for the rest of the run: more Lotus health, flytraps that bite, a pet copy of yourself, faster or stronger attacks, weaker or slower enemies, and more. Taking a boon again raises its level, up to 5.

Clearing wave 1 pays 1 coin, wave 2 pays 2, wave 3 pays 3, and so on. You keep what you have earned even if you leave early.

Classes

Swamp Scout — Spit Blaster, Bog Bomb (3 charges; each bursts into three smaller bombs), Tongue Lash. The fastest class.

Bog Mage — Fireball, Lightning Strike, Teleport.

Reed Knight — Sword Slash, Dash Strike, Throwing Dagger. Takes 10% less damage.

Poison Dart Frog — Poison Dart (keeps hurting for 3.5 seconds), Toxic Puddle, Vanish (4 seconds of invisibility; attacking ends it).

Flying Frog — Quill Burst (fast, short range), Coconut Drop (heavy, short throw), and two extra jumps in mid-air.

Engineer — Nail Gun (long range, weak, eight nails then a slow reload), Wrench, and Turret. Up to two turrets shoot the nearest enemy they can see; enemies can destroy them, and a third replaces your oldest.

Ninja — Shuriken (three in a fan), Katana, and Shadow Clones: two decoys that run for 5 seconds, cannot attack, and vanish the moment they are hit.

Erik Frog — Whip (long reach, light damage, big knockback), Dual Slingshot (two rocks at once), and Shield. He backflips every time he jumps. He takes half damage from everything, but loses 1 health every half second until he is down to 25. While the shield is his selected ability (or while F is held with another one) it is raised by itself: it blocks all damage from in front, slows him, and stops his other attacks. Clicking with the shield selected bashes for 45 damage at point-blank range, after which the shield cannot block for 10 seconds.

Frogpire — Blood Tongue (15 damage, and each hit heals him 8), Mosquito Ray (a shotgun blast of sixteen mosquitoes, 2 damage each), and Transform: 8 seconds as a tiny, fast, flying mosquito that is hard to hit but cannot attack. While a mosquito he drains 5 health a second from any enemy he hovers right next to. Fly where you look; hold Space to climb. 36-second cooldown.

Stilt Frog — The tallest frog in the swamp, up on stilts in a tutu. Only the frog on top can be hit: shots pass straight between the stilts. Stilt Whack (very long reach, 15 damage, huge knockback), Cannonball Launcher (a mortar: it lobs a shell high into the air onto the gold ring under your crosshair and explodes for up to 90 damage, but it cannot drop a shell closer than about nine metres: aim nearer than that and it lands at that minimum distance instead), and Bubble Gun (very fast, 3 damage a bubble, short range).

Playing with someone

Pick a mode under Play. Open Public Lobby lists you under Open Lobbies for anyone to join. Open Private Lobby is not listed: share its code, and your friends use Enter Code.

Accounts and coins

Log in to keep stats, earn coins and use the shop. A duel pays 5 coins per round won and 20 for winning the match. Team deathmatch pays 2 coins per kill and 30 if your team wins.

You earn coins against anyone, logged in or not, and in Defend the Lotus. Practice against bots pays nothing.

There is no password reset, so choose a password you will remember.
